The West Midlands Manufacturing Measurement Centre and the Manufacturing Advisory Service West Midlands have deliverd a program of training for Britalco Engineering staff in NPL level 1 Accredited Metrology, and hands on training on CMM for the development of CMM programs. The programs were for the accurate alignment and measurement of crankshafts for rapid measurement and data processing for high specification components. Full capability studies were completed during the testing of the programs and the CMM facility. Britalco now have the ability to rapidly check and buy-off the crankshaft production processes and components.
